Biography This Los Angeles, California, USA-based rock band treads the same middle ground as Creed, Matchbox 20 and Pearl Jam. Songwriter Jason Wade (b. 5 July 1980, California, USA; vocals/guitar) and Sergio Andrade (b. 17 October 1977, Guatemala City, Guatemala; bass) first forged a musical partnership in the mid-90s as members of their local worship group. They were originally joined by Diff (b. Jon Palmer; drums), Collin Hayden (guitar) and Aaron Lord (violin), and released a demo tape in 1999 under the name Blyss. The demo came to the attention of the newly formed DreamWorks label who subsequently signed the newly rechristened Lifehouse, by now reduced to the core membership of Wade and Andrade. Their 2000 debut No Name Face included the chart hits "Hanging By A Moment" and "Everything", two tracks which encapsulated the band's trademark brand of angsty, melodic rock.
Rick Woolstenhulme (b. 20 September 1979, Gilbert, Arizona, USA; drums) and touring guitarist Stuart Mathis were subsequently added to the band's line-up, although the latter made way for Sean Woolstenhulme (b. 1 March 1981) in 2002. The same year's Stanley Climbfall lacked the melodic impact of its predecessor and was a notable commercial failure. The band opted to leave DreamWorks and strike up a new relationship with Geffen Records. They underwent a number of personnel changes along the way, leaving Wade and Rick Woolstenhulme to record their new album with bass player Bryce Soderberg and a number of guest musicians. The self-titled collection was released in early 2005 and helped revive the band's commercial fortunes. The album included the notable US hit single "You And Me". Copyright Muze UK Ltd. 1989 - 2005
